Farewell Tour Live Visuals

In 2024, Cyndi Lauper announced her final farewell tour, performing in stadiums worldwide. To open her show and lead into her first song, “She Bop,” we created a career-spanning montage showcasing iconic moments from her music videos, pop culture appearances, Broadway ventures, and activism. Leveraging a unique setup of 20 screen panels, our goal was to surprise the audience by simulating a ‘glitch’ effect with traditional color bars and tone patterns. This effect then transitioned into a vibrant visual journey through Cyndi's storied career. To ensure a clear focal point for all audience members, we used the central five lower screens to consistently display the montage, while the surrounding panels provided dynamic, glitch-inspired enhancements with halftone treatments. At times, we utilized the full screen array, while at others, visuals were contained within individual panels. The sound design featured a remixed version of “She Bop,” with added effects and cues to synchronize with the visuals, building to a crescendo that signaled the live band and Cyndi's grand reveal on stage.
